Just play this song named My Name is Nobody by Ennio Morricone already, will you? It's inspiration to the MAX.
Please welcome,
Cat and Jim Craig!
JUST IN TIME FOR TEH DEADLINE.
So, that be me and my horsie Rusty, I can has some manip skillz yes? At least, I hope so...
Our portrait piccu for ! Outlaw Trail Ad ---> #50 Lawman as marked here
Anywho, ~TheOnlyBean and I went out last Sunday and snapped 7gigs worth of Rusty and I having a ball. We got some cool snaps, too, Rusty about flipped over... But it was the best fun I'll tell you. ^^
So, took a good photo from aforesaid shoot, added another photo and painted over and painted in details. And turned my bright bay Quarter Horse into a buckskin Waler. 8D
I don't know if y'all know, but my ranch, sister and I work here in make-believe the same way we work in real-life. We just have more money. 8D So, Cat, who is owner of Dry Gulch Ranch, is me as in *MissDudette, so I can come along on this epic trip. My human drawing skills really are poor, so I wanted to try photo-manipulation for this Outlaw Trail. I'm hoping to get better at the technique, and learn more Photoshop skillz that I'll be able to use for my Graphic Design classes in the fall. Wish me luck!
THIS IS AWESOME-SAUCE AND FUN TECHNIQUE I SAY!

Story
"I'm going to be late!"
"Cat! Calm down and breathe already."
"But I'm going to be late I say!"
You're fine! See, everything's together, and Jim is in the trailer. It's all good."
"But I have to go!"
And with that, Cat grabbed her purse and sprinted to the truck. Bean followed after with a lunchbox and a CD. "Cat, don't forget to take it slow, okay? You've got a whole day to make a 6 hour trip."
Cat buckled in after turning the ignition, "That's NOT enough time. I should'a been there yesterday!"
"You're fine. And here you go," she handed the CD and lunchbox to her through the window. "That's Ennio Morricone's Finest, so get some inspiration, okay?"
"Got it. Oh, and make sure James goes and gets Spur from the airport tomorrow, okay?"
"He knows, and you put the to-do list into all feed rooms, you know Cora has everything down. "
"Well, okay then. I guess I see I'll y'a later... WAIT, the hoofpick!" Cat tore out of the seat and raced to the side of the trailer. After a few moments of searching she found the hoofpick. "Wooo..." she breathed.
Bean tapped her foot, "See, you have everything together. Off you go already!"
Cat hopped back into the cab and started the first song, My Name is Nobody dinged over the speakers as the truck and trailer pulled out.
She waved at her sister and at the trainers in the barn next to her, "Adios!"
(10 hours later)
"Woohoo, my time for cool picture!"
Cat was feeling good. She arrived at the Outlaw Trail headquarters several hours ago, and both she and her new Waler were refreshed and ready to go. She mounted the gorgeous devil after double checking his horse-shoes.
She absolutely loved all the cool horses and Old-West outfits everywhere. They were all creative and just the bee's knees. She felt a little bad, she hadn't really been able to find cool stuff for an outfit, but she hadn't wondered around the replica ghost town either. After this, she was going to go find Chess and see if they couldn't scrounge up some doodads.
Just before she smiled for the camera, she looked down at her feet.
Hehe, this is pretty snazzy. Haven't seen any other manips go into the group yet, so this is going to be a stand-out. You did a pretty impressive job of tweaking the colors and getting the lighting looking good (the chief fault of many a manip). Do I detect some sketching around the edges? Oh, and LOVE the horse's name (Snowy River ftw!). Thankfully we'll be on the same side, so no hunting the other down. Random question though, are you going to manip most of the images? Just wondering. </random chattiness>
I'm pretty excited. I hope to make them more painterly as I go along. I just aways love the horse manips all around! So I'm definitely just playing with new techniques for sure. I'm going to see if I can't create a comic of sorts through photomaniping for the whole Trail.
And we are the on the same side! You're number 148 for the Lawmen. Badges are cool, and outlaws drool!
ROFL definitely. A comic could be pretty cool, especially if you do the photo manip thing. Don't think I've ever seen that done. I'm glad to see though, that I'm not the only one who is essentially using this whole thing as an excuse to experiment like crazy.
