This one also has great texture, plus a fun perspective. We were a bit in awe of the work put into the perspective of the fence, and the ghosty trees, and spooky fog.

The Show!Being just a gathering of friends for DGR's Hallow's Eve celebration, come for cidar, pumpkin pie and stories; and see if your horse has what it takes to race by the witch's moon!
The Contestants!All and any competitive horse is welcome! If your horse wants speed to be his first name, then bring him here. All ages at or past 4 are welcome, and all genders, too! As long as there is a rider for the horse, and a horse for a rider, you're all welcome to come. Any breed welcome, fantasy and otherwise!
The Track!A 1 mile/1600 meter track is set up around the field is this race's setting; bring your best 1-milers! Your footing is dirt.
The Tack!You're welcome to bring your basic racing silks and saddles, but I'd like to see all of you in costume as per rules below. Perhaps a Paul Revere jacket, or a Headless Horseman cloak! You don't have to come in full regalia should you fear it impede your horse's race, but at least something.
The Surroundings!Our hayfield underwent craziness this year, and is a mix of sunflowers, corn and hay. Everything is aging with the fall season as we've already gotten as many cuts as we could out of the field. Draw a background with 8 foot/244 centimeter fresh sunflowers and brown/yellow (not dark green) corn, and a base layer of 3 foot/91 centimeter scraggly hay/wheat. There might even be a crow or two in the field, and definitely a scarecrow. A brown wood fence lined with candlelit pumpkins on every 5th post keeps out wayward horses. The race takes place at gorgeous sunset, with just enough light to see. The horses will be running so the sunset and field will be on their left side. The moon is low and yellow on the right side, peeking through a curtain of fall foliage. Your track is a dirt path.
The Costumes!You're all welcome to the All Hallow's Eve party, come dressed in your finest for the season. We're not looking for traditional Halloween costumes though; anyone remember Sleepy Hallow, or the Adventures of Ichabod Crane? Come in that cool style of clothing. Perhaps we'll see Ichabod Crane, Katrina van Tassel, Brom Bones, or even the Headless Horseman! Or perhaps different versions of these characters? Maybe a scarecrow? The sky is the limit!
The Art!I'd love to see backgrounds, lots'a BACKGROUNDS. However, I don't need full-body images. I love close shots of horses and riders, gives way more detail. Sketches are more than welcome a long as they're totally artistic, like with sepia tone! Please no headshots for this race. Also add stories and music to your entry!
The Judging! Judging for the race will be by my sis, ~
TheOnlyBean, and me.
This show is going to be all about the backgrounds! LIKE SERIOUSLY. Sketch the horse if you like, but I want a full-on painted background. I described our scenery above in the Surroundings section, but you're welcome to take a little artistic license. We'll judge BGs based on effort as compared to your previous backgrounds in your competition photos.
Judging for best costume will be by you! A poll will be written up, and will be given 24 hours to be voted on.
Judging for Best Story will be standard judging. We'll be looking for stories that have been grammar/spellchecked properly and can really grab our attention.
Stories without accompanying music will be disqualified from the Best Story category.The Prizes! You are not required to take all these prizes, I know we all have bajillions of designs we want drawn and have no time for.
If you plan on selling the designs, go ahead!

Due to popular demand, the show has been extended for one month. The new closing date is 1st June 2013. There will be no further extensions, but I'm looking forward to seeing more awesome entries!
